LESGIONATE By Tillie Turner Rev. Riley Tomlin, of Mesa, de livered the message at our union meeting last Wednesday night. We were glad to hear so great a ser mon, believing in our hearts that Rev. Tomlin’s life is a holy life and acceptable unto God. He first testi fied how our Lord had so wonder fully blessed him and brought him through two major operations and restored his health, while in the hospital. Men were ving on every side of him but he came through and thanked the Lord for being so good to him. He said he didn't have to make a New Year’s resolu tion, his resolution has been made to God through faith and he means to forever keep that resolution be cause he must work out his own soul salvation. Rev. Tomlin said, now let us con sider Matt. 3:13. We want to talk of the life of Christ for as he suffered in the flesh, we must suf fer likewise. He suffered even unto death. He came to John to be bap tized of him, but John forbade Jesus, saying I have need to be baptized of you. John knew that he was baptising unto repentance, but John knew Jesus need not to repent and why did He insist upon Tohn baptising Him. John knew the baptising signified confession and resentance but Jesus answered John saying suffer this to be so now for thus it becometh us to ful fil all righteousness. Jesus was laying a pattern for us. He went through that we may do likewise. He fasted those 40 days 2nd nights not for Himself but for us that we may have that spirit always. He will not suffer nothing to come upon us that we are not able to bare, unless we are drawn away on our own lust. Jesus suffered in every way even on the cross. It wasn’t John or Peter or Paul or any other person that suffered in us, for they, like us, had to work out their own salvation. But it was Jesus who died for us; Jesus who said not my will O God but thine be done. No wonder He is coming back again for that righteous church, for He alone suffered for it. Acts 4:7-12. It was only through His suffering that the important man stood beore Jesus, it was only through Jesus that he could be made whole. Rom. 9:22. Jesus en dured long suffering and He made it so that we may also endure suf fering as He did. We must endure these things if we want to make it in safety. Sometimes it seems hard for us to hold our peace and let God fight our battles. As Peter denied Jesus and Judas betrayed Him, He did not scold them. He was humble, for We say we’ are going through. Are humble is the way. St. Mark 14:45. we? Don’t forget it takes a soldier ‘o go through. We just have to make that mark of 100. We know that and now 99.2 won't do. We should want to go through. Think about who we shall see face to face if we go through. Consider Him. Our Lord. He never failed us but Hm paid the price. Your life is in His hands. The wind and the rain is in His hand. The whole world is in His hands. Old satan is nighty put Jesus is Almighty. I am elat for Him and in His name, I am enduring all of my suffering. For ‘aving, ‘Yes, Lord, I have faith enough to now wherever I go or whatever happens, my God is with me. Peter 3:10-11. We love life so dearly, we want to see good days always. We want to refrain our tongue from evil and lips that we speak no guile, I om it a privilege to know the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and who can harm me for I am a follower of that which is good We have to know these things “o urselves. We should stop and count the cost .and know how swe
