The Ford Motor Co. was originally organized with $100,000 capital, of which $51,000 was issued to Mr Henry Ford for patents, etc., while the other $49,000 pas sold at par, thereby giving the company $49,000 in cash.While substantial cash and stock dividends were declared from time to time, the greater portion of the earnings were put back into the company. A few years ago a new company was formed with $100,000,000 capital, this com pany taking over all assets of the old company and as the shares of this new company sold at $400.00, it gave the Ford Company a valuation of $400,000,000, or exactly $4000 for every dollar originally invested. Added to this were divi dends amounting to about $50,000,000, so the lucky owner of one share of stock in the original Ford Company, having a par value of $100.00, now has seenrieies worth $400,000 and has been paid another $50,000 in dividends.No. 2. Hupp Motor Co In seven years, $1000 invested in this company grew to $40,000 in stock and the lucky holder received $48,160 in cash divi dends. Dividends on the original investment averaged 1245 per cent yearly 688 per cent in cash and 557 per cent in stock.No. 3. Federal Motor Truck Co., organized in 1911 In 3ix years, $1000 invested grew to $30,000 in stock and the holders received $12,180 in cash divi dends. Dividends on the original investment equaled 686 per cent yearly 483 per cent in stock and 203 per cent in cash.No 4 Hudson Motor Co. It is impossible to get all the facts regarding this company as many cash dividends were paid before companies v.ere com pelled to report earnings, but enough is known to say that the company has been very successful from the start. For a period of only four years, the com pany paid stock dividends of $20,000 on each $1000 invested and in addition there were large cash disbursementsNo. 5 Chalmers Motor Company, From 1909 to 1917, a period of eight years, a $1000 investment grew in to $16,666 and earned a total of $9,297 in cash dividends. Dividends on the original investment averaged 311 per cent yearly 195 per cent in stock and 116 per cent in cash.No. 6.
