FRIDAY MARKED 101ST ANNI VERSARY OF BIRTH OF ES TEEMED CITIZEN. ‘To few men is given the privilege o f spending a century on this mun dane sphere, but God has accorded that right to Hon. Harrison John. n, a highly esteemed and univer sly respected citizen of Columbus , celebrated the one hundred and rat anniversary of his birth at his home on South Third avenue last tiday. The celebration was a quiet and unostentatious one, having con sisted merely of a dinner, at which guests were limited to members of the immediate family of the distin nished centinarian. Although more than one hundred years have elapsed since the birth of Mr. Johnston, he is still hale and hearty, and on Friday received con titlations not only from local iends and relatives, but from num rous prominent people in other sties, wishing him many happy re ums of the anniversary, Rev. Leak to Preach. Brother Leak, dean of the South, a Christian College, at Weat Point will occupy the pulpit of the Christ ian church this morning at 11 o'clock and this evening at 7 o'clock. Rev. Leak is a splendid scholar and an pe preacher, and no doubt will be by a large crowd. It is very important that every member of the church attend one of the services to day, as the question of selecting a new pastor is before the church. Rev. Harker, who has served this congregation so faithfully and is so universally loved, has resigned to go to a broader field.
