Archer Murder Trial Begun This Morn ing —Civil and Criminal Docket Disposed of and New Suits. The Archer muder trial begun in the circuit court this (Thursday) morning. Most of the day was tak en up with empaneling a jury, and will probably take two or three days to fill the jury box with jurors satis factory to both sides. It will be remembered that Archer shot and killed his wife in a wine room at Atlas in September, 1911, while she sat at a table in company with another woman and two men. Archer's plea will be insanity. The following cases on the state docket have been disposed of since last week: State vs. Bent Turner, Perry Wil son, George Sanders and Oren Wright, visiting gaming house; on motion of the prosecuting attorney the cases against each of the de fendants was dismissed, Cases of State vs. Joe Benham, carrying concealed weapons, and Dan Campbell, assault and battery, were dismissed for want of evidence to convict. State vs Elmer Call, perjury; plea of not guilty; trial by jury and found not guilty. State vs. Walter Hedden, child de sertion; stricken from the docket with leave to re-instate. State vs. Jesse Skinner, intoxica tion, plea of guilty and fined $5.00 and jail sentence suspended during good behavior. The following cases on the civil docket have been disposed of the past week: The receiver for the Linton Roll ing Mill Co. filed his final report which was approved and accepted by the court and the receiver dis charged. Maddox Jones Co. vs. Walter P. Worth and F. W. Cook Brewing C., mechanics’ lien; judgment for plain tiff for $175.00. The Farmers and Mechanics B. L. Assn. vs. Lulu May et al., fore closure; cause dismissed. Leon P. Marshall vs. Aaron, Combs et al, note; judgment for $138.12, Niles B. Stivers vs. Al Dobbins et al., note; judgment for plaintiff for $70.40, Carl V. Griffith vs. Clara Inman and Clarice Sarver, account; judg ment for plaintiff for $193.57. The following new suits have been filed with the circuit clerk since last week. Dr. T. Roy Cook vs. Joseph John son, account. Nancy Williams, admx. estate of Ivory Williams, deceased, vs. Rich ard Waldie, account. Oscar G. Miller vs. Mrs. Ferguson, wife of John Ferguson, deceased, quiet tithe, WR. Cravens vs. Julius B. Peur son, Note. J. UW. Aufderheide vs. Plenty [a man, foreclosure, Jerry Workman vs. John wv. Phil lips, account, Mary J. Russell vs Sarah J. Van Slyke estate, account, Allen Williams vs. Lewis V. Gard ner, account, Elias KR. Mason vs. Willian J. Heaton, foreclosure, Therecine Petoit, of Linton, has applied to the circuit court for a de cree of divorce from Camilo Petoit. Joseph T.
