DISASTER AT FERNIESix! Uen Lose Their Lives by An Explosion Yesterday.Miohel, Jan. 9.—A disastrous explosion occurred Jn No. 3 mine,Ioperated by the Crows Nest Pass Coal company, yesterday evening, whereby six miners were instantly killed. The victims of the explosion were:D. Roberts.William McAllister.Jack Sale.William King.Burkett Dean.Tom Evans.Two other miners were seriously injured, but it is thought, not fatally.A miner named D. Thomas is missing and a relief party is hard at work trying to find him.Several miners in the relief parties were overcome by gas and were continually being brought out of the mine for air.
