In addition to the alleged murder charged against Louis Disbrow, which is noticed for trial at Riverhead on Jan uary 12, before Justice Maddox, there are eight civil issues on the calendar. If these cases are tried, as is now ex pected will be the case, court may be in session for three weeks. One of the issues is Walter B. Ken nedy against Moss K. P. Fuller. This is an action for heavy damages on a charge of assault. Kennedy is the edi tor of a newspaper at Amityville, and it was alleged by Fuller that the paper contained an article very derogatory to his (Fuller's) character and that of his family, Fuller took the law into his own hands and badly horsewhipped the editor. He was indicted for the assault, tried, convicted and fined a nominal sum. Now Kennedy brings a civil suit to collect damages. The action of Mrs. Emma Meeks against James H. Doxsee, Islip parties, is also noticed for trial A man em ployed by Doxsee was driving a team hitched to a hay fedder. The team ran away and in their flight ran over Mrs. Meeks. The sharp teeth of the machine penetrated her body in several places, doing great personal injury. She al leges negligence on the part of the own er of the team and brings suit to recov er damages.
