Introducing • • .THE HIRAM SCOTT COLLEGEScottsbluff, NebraskaAcademic Excellence in the Robust West”The Hiram Scott College, a private four-year liberal arts college, founded by western Nebraska citizens deeply concerned with the education of Americas youth, opened its doors on October 8, 1965, The initial enrollment for the first trimester was 528 students* The Fall 1966 enrollment totaled 1429 students.The major purpose of The Hiram Scott College is to make available a superior liberal arts education for young men and women throughout America* An aim of the college is to give its students the added advantage of intimate corftaet with different ideas and attitudes which are found in people from different geographic areas, economic levels, and intellectual attainments. Jn keeping with this aim - the College seeksstudents from all parts of the United States, From different social and economic backgrounds, and with varying academic preparations. At present, the student body represents thirty-thrce stales from coastdO'CoasL Their backgrounds are varied in terms of religion, race, intellectual achievement, and socioeconomic satiis. Students bring to the campus from all regions of the country different customs, beliefs, and ideas.Development of the campus includes four completed buildings with additional dormitories, a library, science building, classrooms, and other instructional J aril lies underway. At it reset it, more excellent facilities are being provided in downtown Scotts-hluff. These include classrooms, lecture hall, administrative and faculty offices, library, large dormitory and student recreational facilities.An outstanding faculty of proven ability lias been brought together *represrntmg universities from California to Massachusetts and across the seas to Europe and Australia. Among these universities are the Sorbonne, University of Paris, Stanford, Utii-‘vrrsity of Iowa, Oklahoma State University, Harvard, Yale, ITni-versiy of New South Wales, Chicago, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota and Indiana,A thorough academic program is offered in the liberal arK. To assure superiority in its instruction. The Hiram Scott College has developed four approaches:1. TRIMESTERS ,1 Trimesters # Commenting in October* February and June • Enables the student to cnmplee 4 sears of college in 2?-j years * Students may elect to attend any 2 of the 3 trimesters.2.
