Gen. Pyron Dies Of Heart AttackSAN ANTONIO, Jan. 8. lt;U.R— Brig. Gen. Walter B. Pyron, re-| tired vice president of Gulf Oil ; Corporation, died of a heart attack Monday at the age of 68.He retired witmn tne past year from both his military and business positions.Pyron organized the 56th Cavalry Division of the Texas National Guard, a unit that went into fed-i eral service in 1942. For three I years during World War 11. he ' served as assistant secretary of war in charge of petroleum procurement for the U. S. and allied i military forces.Associated with Gulf since 1904.he resumed his vice presidency ofthe oil firm at the war’s end. resigning it and retiring from his military post simultaneously in1 1950.Services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, with plans calling for a 1 military burial at Fort Sam Houston.
