BILLY NORTON AND FREDDIE ATKINSON CLASH IN BOX ING HEADLINER. Card Marks Return of Wrestling To Local Arena For First Time In Nearly Year. The groans and grunts of strug gling behemoths will echo from a Fargo ring for the first time in nearly a year tonight when Andy Meen, Fergus Falls, and Frank To pas, Minneapolis, engage in a one hour limit heavyweight wrestling match at the Elks arena. The grapplers feature the first Elks weekly charity fund boxing card since December 18 when ath letic activities were suspended by the lodge during the holidays. Supporting the wrestlers will be a 21-round boxing program head lined by Billy Norton, Fargo, and Freddie Atkinson, Minneapolis, in a six-rounder at 145 pounds. The bout marks the return of Norton to a local ring after a brief layoff ne cessitated by injured hands. Matchmaker Leo Kossick has ar ranged three four-rounders in which Stout Petrie, Park Rapids, a former Northwest Golden Gloves champion, tackles Billy Russell, Moorhead trial horse, at the mid dleweight limit; Louis Raik, Madi son, Wis., faces Earl Burch, Spo kane, Wash., at 145 pounds; and Chuck Carroll, Fargo negro, en gages Joe Raik, Madison, Wis., also at 145. Bud Bellard, Fargo, and Ray Mar chand, Moorhead, meet in the three-round curtain raiser at 135 pounds. The card will get under way promptly at 8:15 p.m. Kossick and Spud Murphy, former Moorhead lightweight, will officiate. A capacity crowd is expected to jam the Elks auditorium to wel come wrestling back to the local fold. The mat attractions proved exceptionally popular here last sea son. General admission is 50 cents with 25 cents extra for reserved seats. Reservations can be made by calling the Elks club.
