firs. A. Wellard, Mrs.Hargaret Bethea and Nathan Smith Dead.Mrs. A.Wellard,living south of town, died Thursday at the age of 39 years, four months and 28 days. The funeral services were held in the Farson Methodist church Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, conducted by the pastor, liev. T. J. Pettit. The remains were interred in the Competine cemetery.Laura A. Dengle was born in Henry county, Illinois, Augusts, 1869. She was married to Alexander Wellard November 28, 1889. In the spring of 1891 they moved to Phelps county, Nebraska, where they resided until 1901, when they removed to Wapello county, Iowa, where they had resided since.Seven children were born to Mr. and Mts. Wellard. Two died in infancy, and five survive the mother: Percy Charles, Lela Mabel, ltuby Pearl, Leona Hattie and Opal Marie, who, with the father, mourn the loss of a devoted wife aud mother.Besides the husband and five children, four brothers aud three sisterB, Andrew, William, Grant and Mrs.Henrietta Higgins, of Cambridge, Illinois, Mrs. Agnes Hardy and John,of Peoria, Illinois, and Mrs. Hattie Warner, of Kewanee, Illinois, mourn the departure of their dear sister..For the past Rye years Mrs. Wellard had been more or less an invalid, but about ten days ago she took seriously ill with acute pneumonia^, which, in connection with her other maladies proved too much for her mortal strength.
