Will Assist in Defense of C. D. Burnett Charged With Murder. The trial of Mr. C. Dawson Burnett for the klling of Mr. Young H. Daniel in Winder several weeks since comes up in Gwinnett Superior Court at an early date. Mr. Burnett has been in jail at Law renceville since the killing, having been charged with murder, and on that charge he will face a jury of his peers and go to trial for his life. He is being defended by Judge Geo. C. Thomas, and it is now announced that Hon. Charles H. Brand has been employed to assist in defense of the prisoner, Mr. Brand, who until Jan. Ist had been the soliitor general of the circuit, is one of the best criminal lawyers in the circuit and will add very materially to the strength of the defense in this ¢. The state will be represented by Solicitor Gneral S. J. Tribble and he will be assued by Hon. John R. Coop er, of Macon, who has been retained by the prosecution. This promises to be one of the hard est fight battles that was ever faced in the Courts in this state.
