He devoted much of his time to similar civic im-I provernents and in his first ses-[ sion in the Virginia Legislature was a staunch supporter of measures to provide free school books for children attending public schools. *He was a charter member of the Arlington Rotary Club, and a memhtfr of the Washington Golf Country Club; as well as a member of several Masonic organizations including the Tcmple-Noycs Lodge No. 32.Surviving are his widow, the former Annie Graham Collins, of the Arlington address; a daughter. Mrs Robert E. Latham 'of Alexandria; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.A funeral service was held Saturday with burial in Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green.Mr. Jesse owned a Jinmp in Fleets Bay where he had spent some time in recent years.
