At a meeting of these citizens, called especially for the purpose, it was deemed advisable to confer with thd Miners' Union, of Butte, and enlist, if possible, the cordial co-operation of that great organization. This was done and the movement at once received the enthusiastic approval and co-operation of the Miners' Union and of the toilers of the state generally. After due consultation with a committee from the Miners' Union, a com-•mittee, consisting of twenty-one members. was appointed to organize .1 memorial association.
