BLUEFIELD — (UPI) Local persons “who knew the layout of the interior” were prime suspects today in the theft of $500,000 in new $100 bills from the home of a coal operator here. “We have some scaht leads and possible suspects,” Chief A. L. Dodson of the Bluefield Po lice Department said today. “We got a tentative identifi cation of a vehicle and a de scription of a suspect,” Dodson said a car was seen in the neighborhood with its motor running near the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Clyborne. The Clybornes had liquidated some assets and that is why so much money was on hand, Dod son said. The loss was Mrs. Clyhorne’s, Dodson said, explaining that the couple used separate accounts. The money was to have been placed in the bank but Mrs. Cly horne told police she didn’t set around to the bank. The theft occurred while the couple was out to dinner Mon day evening, which was their practice, according to the chief. A .30-caliber revolver and a portable color television set also were missing from the house, Dodson said. Entry was gained by breaking a lock on the back door.
