Earl Hensley, 48, maintenance man at the Hercules »,owder plant, southwest of Carthage, died sud denly shortly after 9 a.m. today, apparently of shock resulting from injuries received in an accident at the plant. Hensley's clothing became ¢ tangled in machinery in the nuvu ammonia facility, pulling his leg in to the machine. He died before a physician could reach the plant. He had been an employe of the Hercules plant the last 12 years. Born Oct. 8, 1914, in Okmulgee county, Oklahoma, Mr. Hensley came to this district about 30 years ago with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Hensley. They settled southeast of Carthage where the son, Earl, had lived since. Surviving Mr. Hensley are the wife, Mrs. Marian Hensley of the home on route 3; five children, Earl Hensley, Jr., route 3, and Benny, Judy, Timmy and Carl Wayne Hensley, all of the home; five brothers, Joshi Hensley, route 3; Delbert Hensley, Carthage; James Hensley, Bonner Springs, Kan.; Bob Hensley, Weatherford, Texas, and Jack Hensley, Niles, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Ralph Shipman and Mrs. Gilbert White, Carthage; Mrs. James Hobson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Kim Kendall, Fayetteville, N. C., and Mrs. John Waters, Council Grove, Kan., and three grandchildren Two other children born to Mr. and Mrs. Hensley passed away. Mr. Hensley was a member of Emmanual Baptist church, south east of Carthage. He also was a Mason. The body is at the Ulmer funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
