Heber Tilden, '20, was run down and seriously injured in San Francisco last night by an automobile driven by George A. Booth, wealthy grain broker. Tilden was alighting from a street car as the machine struck him. He was abandoned by the driver of the car who fled to his hotel, where he shot and seriously wounded himself as detectives were coming to arrest him. Tilden was taken to the French hospital where his condition was pro nounced dangerous. While at Stanford Tilden was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He served in the Fourth Stanford Ambulance unit during the great war.
