Spalding, in the chair.l)r. J. Si*vi.di.no was elected President for tho ensuing year; Dr. lt;, Smith, of Waitsfield, Vico Pres.; Kcv. Eli Ballou, Secretary, and lion J. Howes, Treasurer.Gen. E. P. Walton one of the “ Persuasive Committee’’ unpointed at the semi annual ineet-inlt;r, reported that the said Committee succeeded in obtaining a promise from all the unlicensed liquor dealers in this village, save o.nk, that each would desist from the traffic in spirits, provided all others would come into the arrangement.Appointed the following gentlemen a hoard of Manigers lor the year, viz: Eli Ballou, Montpelier; E. Il' vey, Berlin; John Thompson, **M, Barre; Col. Oliver Avorill, Northlield; J. C. Fargo, Wait? field ; Nath. Sherman, Plainfield; Dr.(). W. Drew, Waterhury; Pierce Spalding, Warren; %. \V. Boyce, Fuyston ; Rufus Clapp, Morctown; Daniel Strors, Marshfield; Col. J. Moore, Calais ; Chester Marshall, Duxbury.'flie following gentlemen were appointed a delegation to attend the next session of the Yt.
