19 5 0 Underway With W. G. Dancesby Jane McDonnellWEST GLACIER—A nice dance was put on New Year’s eve in the Rec. hall for the teen agers of West Glacier and Apgar. We would like to heartily thank Mr. Don Robinson, Mrs. Adolph Opalka and Ace Thuring who assisted with the affair. We all had a good time.Most of the same teen agers enjoyed themselves Wednesday night at the West Glacier cafe at a nice dance. Afterwards we had sandwiches and cookies for refreshments. Thanks much, Thelma and Bill.While we are on the subject of dances, I would like to mention how much fun all the folks are having at the Thursday night square dances.Mrs. Laura Marble entertained at an after Christmas dinner on December 23. Guests were the Walter Boberg family, Kalispell. Pat Boberg got Christmas leave from the WACS and flew home for the holidays. She has been transferred to the Presidio in San Francisco.The Hindcrman family, White-fish were guest of Mrs. Laura Marble New Year’s eve.Mrs. Dave Thompson and children went to Shelby to be with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Parker for New Years. Dave joined them later.The L. H. Rupps have a nice new grey Chevrolet.Monday is the regular meeting of the West Glacier-Apgar PTA and will be at the Rec. hall if possible.It took Mr. and Mrs. Jess Whitney seven hours to go back to Great Falls. The road was bare from Browning to Great Falls.Mr. and Mrs. John Blankenship have returned from a two weeks trip to Phoenix and Banning, California. They visited Mr. and Mrs. A1 Wright at Phoenix who wish to be remembered to all their friends.HOMEMAKERS TO MEETWest Glacier Home Demonstra-Irish Couple Set Up HousekeepingMarried in Columbia Fails at St. j Richard’s December 27 were Mich-• ael Joseph Egan from County Ros-i common, Ireland, and Nora Agnes Sullivan of County Kerry.Egan came to. the United States I a year and a half ago, and his i bride, this fall. The couple had met in London, where she was a nurse.Home for the honeymooners is trailer 106 in GSM camp.Father Hugh A. Faley officiated at the ceremony at St. Richards. ! Bridesmaid was Patricia Egan with John L. Schairer, best man. The bride, who has all the look of an Irish colleen, was given in marriage by O. W. Luther. The church was attractively decorated.Altar boys were Pat and Mike Estenson. Mrs. Joe Reese, Jr., played the organ and Mrs. James ' Marantette sang “Ave Maria.”At the wedding breakfast at Club Rocco were the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Schairer, Mrs. Frank Ladenberg, Frances ! Ladenberg, Marietta and Linda Jean Luther, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Luther and Pat Egan.It was the birthday anniversary of the groom and Mrs. Schairer, and they received special toasts.Local Installs OfficersHungry Horse local of the National Federation of Federal Employes Wednesday evening installed Jack Patton as president: Moore Tice, first vice president; Harold Wheatley, second vice president; Grace Ritzman, secre-tary-treasurer, and Harrel Yadon, guide.club will meet Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Jim Stevens. Subject is “Getting Along with People.” Present will be Miss Lillian Tubb, county home demonstration agent.Windup of the annual Christmas seal drive is near. Local residents are urged to send in their donations, if they have not already done so.
