The lowest bid was by Birkner of Lockhart for $8,508 -65. He also tears the old bujld-Mr. Birknet is ac present engaged in the erection of the Maxwell school building, with which the people of that community are well pleased Mr. Wood having investigated the matter, Mr. Childs also recommends him, having seen one of his buildings at Del Rio. which he said is a very fine one indeed Work is expected to begin on Mav, 1—next Monday week.Plans for the city hall were on the same day submitted by R. L. Pierce of San Antonio, J. L, McCleland and J. P. Caldwell of 8an Marcos.
