FULL CAUSEDS BROKEN LEGGEORGE HIRSCHAUER IS LAID UP AT HOSPITAL.SLIPPED ON ICY RAILSHe Could Not Be Taken Home Because His Aged Father is Seriously 111—Shock Would Be Too Much for Him.From Tliurfc.lay’* Dull?.George E. Hirschauer, Jr., Panhandle airbrake inspector, sustained a fractured leg this morning at 10 o’clock, when he slipped on the icy rails in the yards at Fourteenth street, and fell. Hirschauer was hastening alt; ross the tracks when the accident happened, and his left knee struck the rail in such a manner that his leg was fractured. Several yardmen saw him fall, and when he did not get up they ran to his side. Hirschauer was carried to the yard office and a call was sent for Killian McCloskey’s ambulance. He was first removed to the office of Dr J. B. Shultz, where the fractured leg was set, and then taken to the St. Joseph hospital.Hirschauer resides with his parents at 221 West Broadway. His father. George E Hirschauer, Sr., is seriously j ill at home and is not expected to live. It was thougnt that if his son was taken home injured the shoe, would be too much for the aged man an dmight pro\e fatal. The fracture of Hirschauer leg was not a very serious one, as it was below the knee, but ho will cohfined at the hospital for several weeks.CARRIERS REPORT.
