Have Struck Oil.Elsewhere in these columns we are publishing the application for charter of the Mexican Gulf, Oil and Mineral Co., a corporation to be composed of Messrs. J. S. Me-Ree, R. B, Coleman and W. W. Collier,4 all of this city. The cap* ital stock will be $10,000 and Bainbridge will be the beadquar* ters of the company.This company has purchased a large tract of land in Washington county, Fla., eight miles from Chiplcy; and they have every indication of the existence of oil intne warm opnngs xiuici, uub ui the most fashionable summer resorts of the state. Mr. Davis is a warm personal friend of Hon. J. W. Butts of this city, and has visited him at his old home at SteamMill. _large quantities in these lands. Contracts have already been let for boring, and the work will begin nght away.The gentlemen interested in this concern are very much pleased at their prospects, and their many Bainbridge friends trust that their expectations may be fully realized.
