Dr. J. A. Butte was selected Chairman and J. M. Terrell Secretary of the meeting.Nominations being in order the name of Dr. E. J. Morgan for Mayor was placed in nomination by Hons. Bon. E. Russell and P*; A. L. Hawes—Hon. D. A. Russell seconding ! u j the same. A motion to nominate Dr. Mor- ; of gan by acclamation was carried, and he | •'was so nominated.A resolution by Hon. D. A. Russell, endorsing the old Board of Aldermen for their faithful performance of duty, and ! asking that they serve another term was unanimously carried, but the old Board ' declined with thanks through Hon. Jno. E.; Donaison of the old Board.• The nomination of Aldermen by ballot i bot com rnenced wit h the following result: J. E. j Dickenson. M. O’Neal, J. D. Harrell. E. ^ Johnson, II. Nussbaum and I.
