David Lybrook, of Russiaville, who has been spending a year among the familiar haunts of early childhood in Virginia, has returned home looking hale and hearty. Kirk was called Thurs day to Columbus, Ind., to attend the funeral of her nephew, Guy Griffith, 15 years of age, who was drowned at that place on Wednesday. George Ogden, Asbury Kelly and J.J. Foster, who have been scouring the jungles of Arkansas for wild game, returned home on Monday. They are loaded with big stories of border ruffian life. Miss Lizzie Sheridan, Miss Duck wall, Miss Hattie Kinglesmith, Jim Sheridan, Dan and Bat McCarty and Clint Kinglesmith, of Peru, and Miss Anna Bowe, of Chicago, were the guests of Mrs. H. C. Cole New Years. Miss Mary Pavy, one of the success ful teachers of Peru, and Willard Wo tan, who have been spending a week visiting J. N. Loop and other relatives in Howard county, returned home today. Richard Nixon gave us a call Tues day and paid his 34th year’s sub scription to this paper, which dates back to the days when it was called the Pioneer and was published at New London. Mr. John Gilmore, accompanied by his niece, Miss Nellie, of Danville, Ilinois, are visiting here, guests of Chas. F. Springer. John is an old Kokomo boy and since his de parture from here has seen a good portion of the country. He is now looking up a location with the view of going into business and becoming a settled citizen. We hope his choice will fall to our city.
