(_ j denied all of Conner s accusations. saici. son.KJMH-26 signs on; anticipates 24-hour service.By Steve DelaneyThe Hawk EveKJMH-26 is on the air.Burlington’s only independent television station signed-on at 2:30 a.m. today offering videomusic, according to Les White, a stockholder and consultant in the station.“It’s up, it’s on and we anticipate that it will continue to be on •24-hour service,” White said.The station will add Centelcable transmission, also on channel 26, beginning Wednesday, Centel officials said.White said faulty equipment had delayed the official sign-on until this morning. He said the final piece of microwave equipment arrived Monday. The station’s signal is being sent to the transmitter through a second microwave perched atop BurlingtonMedical Center.White said he had originallyhoped to sign-on late last year.“Everybody’s heard of Murphy’s Law that everything that could go wrong. Well, it did. We’ve had manufacturing defects in the equipment and the first microwave path was shot. Just an unbelievable amount of problems,” he said.The station’s scheduled is listed in TV Guide and will soon be listed in The Hawk Eve television section printed in Sunday’s edition.The video music will be replaced by regular programming as soon as final testing is complete, White said. “We’re only running it for the first couple of days to make final adjustments,” he said.KJMH will offer University of Iowa football and basketball games in addition to various reruns now offered in syndication.Eventually, White said, a local news program will be offered.
