MAINZ, Germany (88) -- Sp3 Dan L. Bright, 40, of B Co, 708th Maintenance Bn, was shot and killed by his wife In their quarters at University Housing area here early Saturday morning, 8th Div Hy announced, According to the Army spokes man, Bright had been drinking In Mainz and returned to hhe quarters with an Atyrar-old German girl. A quarrel arrived and the soldier took the girl to the man's quar ters. During his absence, Mrs. Bright, 28, who has a 2 week-old baby, Placed a platol under her pillow and when her husband returned about an hour later, the quarrel resumed. When, according to Mrs Bright, her husband threatened to hit her with a cleaning brush, she pulled the pistol from under her pillow, firing four xhotn.
