Entered as second-class matter May 12, 1910, at the post office at Ronan, Montana, under the Act of March 3, 1879THE RONAN PICLocated in the Heart of the Great Flathead Indian KescrvaticVolume II. No. 36.RONAN. MISSOULA COUNTY. MONTANA, JANUARY 5, 1912Buildings and Improvements In Ronan In 1911Barney Bessette, Jack Curtis M. L. DePhelps W. C. Hopperimprovements.Ronan has been on the build during the past year. It has been a steady, substantial growth from January till December 31st, and it still continues till the present time. Dotted here and there over the additions to the original town are to be found the fine new residences and barns erected during the past year, and excavations are being made for still more. While many of the new residences are only temporary and were built to house the families of the new people coming here who were unable to rent a building, preparations are being made now to build more substanital structures in the early spring. Not only were many new dwellings built in Ronan during 1911, now of revered memory only, but there were many substantial business houses erected and all are occupied at the present time. A careful estimation has been made of the approximate cost of all the improvments made in the town during the past year and the following is a very full list of same. It is not given as being absolutely correct, but where some may be a little in excess of the actual cost, it is thought that others are low enough to counterbalance any of the excesses. It is a record of which the Pioneer is very proud, and this feeling is shared by each and every one now living in the town. All of the names appended are people now actually residing within the limits of what will be the city of Ronan after an election has been railed to determine the question of incorporation, and were the list to be extended to include the surrounding country, the money actually spent in improvments during the past year would be nearer a half million than the amount shown in the total j for Ronan alone. It is believed that this year will witness so much greater growth as to make this showing a very small one. Those making improvements were:I.
