With what an amount of low c m.iug and tillniny this child—who can scarcely be said to know better—was persuaded by a man, bordering upon three score and ten years, to rob his own lather's house, it is almost impossible to roncoive, and there can l.c no doubt but tliat parents, whose offspring are exposed to the evils which intercourse with such men as this sre naturally and feasibly the outcome, cannot feel otherwise than relieved by a knowledge of tho fact that their children are no longer in lunger of having their morals and lives tainted by tho hanelnl influences of one so deep in crime. Jones must have been fully aware that this mere child could not nave become p is on eil of atteli valuables as he did by anv Is nest iiieuns, and the paltry trifles which the prisoner acknowledged ho Imd given tho boy in exchange for them, went .a provi his guilt.
