An aurora research rocket is scheduled to be launched-between Jan. 21 and Feb. 5from Poker Flat. This will be one of the greatest downrange impactsof any Poker Flat rocket.While the launch will be of significant interest to scientists, casual observers will be disappointed. With the exception of the rocket trail during thelaunch, there won’t be any “fireworks” visible from theground.Sponsoring the Terrier-Male-mute rocket is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Dr. Lawrence Cahill of the University of Minnesota and Dr. Roger Amokiy of theUniversity of New Hampshire are coordinating the scientificactivities.
