Crack Shooters Highlight Field In Cage TourneyTwo of the finest “pur* shooters in collegiate basketball ranks, guards Raymond lewis of Cal State Los Angeles and William “Bird Averitt of Pepper-dine University, are the main individual attractions in the second annual Cal State L.A. Invitational Basketball Tournament to be held Thursday, Jan. 25, and Saturday, Jan. 27, at Memorial Sports Arena.Both Lewis, 6 ft. 2 in., 170-pound sophomore, and Averitt, 6-1, 170-pound junior, are among the national leaders in point-making this year, according to NCAA figures, which showed Lewis with a 34.3 points-per-game average for his first six games while “Bird was showering the hoop at a 30.3 clip.
