January 16th has been agreed t with the particular part the highway commission and Lake county will play in providing adequate-pon as the tentative date for the meeting of the state highway commission with the North Township Good Roads committee. It was announced this morning. Negotiations are under way at present to either establish this date as definite or substitute one which Is convenient both to the committee and to the highway commission.Rather elaborate preparations are contemplated for this occasion on the part of the roads committee. A number of celebrities will probably be formally invited to attend, including Governor Harry Leslie, local civic loaders and officials, members of tho board of commissioners of Cook cotinty, 111., and constituents of good roads and planning associations of the district.At that time, the needs not only of North township will bo expounded, but plans for the road system of tho entire Chicago region aro expected to be set forth togethermeans to handle the region’s traffic.Tho leading local project for which support will bo asked will probably bo Route 41, which has been completed from the state line In Robertsdale to the Ohio river with tho exception of two sections. One of these is from the south line of North township to tho Lincoln highway, and the other is a proposed viaduct over the railroad tracks at Gibson, which could be financed Jointly by the state and the railroads. The latter aro said to have Indicated themselves favorably toward a grade separation project at this point.Plans for the meeting with the commission which are tentative at this time, will be speedily completed when the date for the meeting is either verified for January 16th or scheduled definitely for an evening prior or subsequent to this date.
