Mena Will he a Big Town.Mr. John GUlham, father of General Manager Robert Gil I ham, accompanied his son and other officials on their trip to Mena last week as mentioned in another place in this issue and took great pleasure in i -ling around and noting the rapid gro vth of the town. This was the first lime the old gentleman had Imd an opt ortunity to note the growtli of our tovvn since his first visit here prn*r to the arrival of the railroad when he rume on horseback from the contractor s camp twenty miles north of here, less than three years ago at which time he took dinner at Mr, Hob-litzers, the only “hotel” in or near town.Mr. Gillham is a man of much business experience and possesses excellent judgement and in looking at Mena on this trip and noting its substantial growth he predicted that it would become a big town within a very few years, equal to some of the best in the state.
