Twenty-eight hundred enthusiastic Farm Bureau membership captains attended the Farm Bureau Neigh bors Jamboree in Des Moines last Thursday. _ Adams county was represented by Glen 8. Knee, membership chairman, Virgil Roberts, Roy Penfold, Homer Best, Ben Nari gan, Ira Seely, Pon Johnston, Clair Perry, Wayne Ross, James Perry, Ralph Gentry, Rosa Slater, Virg James, and Verne ‘Maiden, fieldman for the Adams_ county Porn Bureau, ‘his year featured some of the outstanding speakers |o try Jack Lynn, legislative director for the American Farm Bureau, out lined the’ problems farmers face in the next session’ of Congress and where the Farm Bureau fits into the picture, Dr. Kenneth MacFarland, educa tional consultant for General Motors Corporation, rated the_top..sneaker in the United States, addressed the meeting for more than an hour, Dr .MacFarland told the audi ence the need for a ‘strong demo cratic organization, auc as Farm Bureau_to represent agriculture. There was entertainment furnish ed In variety to the satisfaction of all in attendance.
