The arrival home of his uncle, who recently received a discharge from the armed service, was for Ronald ““Romnie’”’ Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Smith, 115 Illi nois street, the best New Year's greeting he could receive. Pass ing papers to families residing on sections of Comstock, Dewey, Hyde Park, Illinois, Madeline and Morgan streets, he plans to be come a priest. A Spectator car rier for four months, he is an 11 year-old student in the fifth grade at St. Patrick’s grade school. Since he has been playing the clarinet for the past three years, Gilbert “Gil’ Papp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Papp, 726 Col lins street, plans to make music his career. With chemistry and basketball as his two main hob bies, Gil has been passing Spec tators for over two and a half years. He delivers papers to res idents on Columbia, Liberty and Parks streets, and is in the sixth grade at the Parks grade school. His 13 year-old sister, Virginia, helps him distribute his papers on Thursdays. As fresh air is healthful, Rosa lie “Rose” Dorre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Severn R. Dorre, 415 Benton street, finds her paper route most advantageous. Whe she completes her studies, muse would like to be a secretary. Re turning home each afternoon from school, she spends the remainder of the day playing with her 14 month-old sister, Cherry Ann. A 12 year-old student in the seventh grade at St. Mary’s grade school, her newspaper route covers sec tions of Benton, Cass and Collins streets. The fact that folks on his paper route want to know where the other newspaper girl is causes Donald “Don” Franson’ to wish he had been delivering Spectators longer than three months. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fran son, 408 Linden avenue, Don is in the eighth grade at Washington school. His sister, Shirley, and brother, Ervin, help him pass papers Thursdays to families on Bennett, Lehman, Linden, Miles, Strong and Winston streets. Sled ding during the winter months is much enjoyed by this route boy. Football shares the major part of the present interests of Gerald “Gerry” Kane, son of Mrs. Joseph J. Kane, 1107 West Park front, who is looking forward to a foot ball career. A Spectator newstoy for over a year, Gerry is in the fifth grade at St. Patrick’s grade school and is 10 years old. Dis tributing papers to residents on sections of Belleview, Betula, Central, Davis, Kinsey, Meadows and Midland streets, Gerry's 9 year-old brother, Tommy, some times helps him on his route.
