Next, and from the human standpoint, more important, is the necessity for a highway. patrol. This subject was discussed at length last week, but we cannot repeat too often the fact that modern highways demand modern policing, and that the present traffic accident figures in Mississippi bespeak the crying need for protection. Personally, I can see no convincing reason for opposing a highway patrol, and believe that the organization and every other Mississippi civic group should back Senator Albert Lake’s bill.
