What Is a Pro-German?A local discussion of the question, “What Is a Pro-German?” led to the expression of several interesting opinions'by those discussing the matter, and leads the Observer to express its opinion onwhat constitutes a Pro-German. We believe that■any man who publicly or privately makes any statement that tends to discourage the vigorous and wholehearted prosecution of the war, or that stands in the way of the absolute defeat of the German will to conquer is a pro-German. He who is not for the United States and its allies is pro-German. It is not enough to be for America, Whoever is for America but not against Germanyis Pro-German. He who is not against Germany IS against America. The Pro-German is againstFrance, is against England, is against Italy, Russia, Belgium, and all our allies, and he who is against them is against America. Whoever slanders our allies is anti-American and Pro-German.
