In response to the generous invitation extended by the Mildmay Radical club to the poor children residing within a mile radians of the club’s premises, no fewer that 910 youngsters participated in the substantial dinner and entertainment provided yesterday.. Punctually at noon Considerably over 2,000 hungry little ones presented themselves at the club’s entrance, but, unfortunately, but a few over the number who had cards of invita tion could be admitted to the feast, arrangements having been made for the accommodation of 900. In bstories of 300 the children, many bei barefooted, awarmed ‘into the main, and seated themselves, at tables wash literally groaned and creaked with the weight of the many'good things displayed for their ' spare mercy ‘in the entertainment hall, and shrieked with delight at the antics of Marionettes and performing animals.
