vetyfieuaHbiJcIIat03* lion. S. S. Collett, Senator from Vermillion County, after a short illness, died at Indianepoli® on the ■joth ultimo. We extract the following from the Slate Sentinel of Saturday lost:Death of the Hon* S. S. Collett.It will be seen by our Legislative Reports of yesterday, that the Hon. Stephen S. Collett, departed this life on Thursday evening last, at his lodgings in this city, in the 53d year of his age. Mr. Collett was one of the 'pioneers of the Wabash valley, and for five years a Senator in our State Legislature from the county of Vermillion. Both Houses adjourned as a tribute of respect, and the usual resolutions, on such occasions, were adopted. An eloquent and powerful sermon was delivered bv the Rev. Mr. Simpson, President of y the As bury University, from the words of the Evangelist—-‘‘There shall be no more death,” and a solemn and eloquent prayer, by Presi- ] dent M'Masters of Hanover College.
