TK.Manilla, Dec. 24.—Amid the joyous preparations of a merry and happy Christmas, when home ties jare to be renewed by sons, daughters and relatives coming from far and near, death came to the home of Mr. William Cowperthwaite, of j Udora, on Wednesday, Iec. 18, when j ; he who had been ailing but a very i short time passed peacefully away at the age of f2 years and 9 ! months. The funeral left his late j home on Saturday afternoon, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends w ishing to show their ja esteem and respect and laid tenderly 1 ’ to rest in the family plot at Manilla. *•The deceased had been a life long resident of this neighborhood previous to moving to Udora, continuing his occupation of farming some seven years ago.'lhe funeral obsequies held in the ! teaspoonft church were sad and impressive. Rev.Mr. Jeffries, of Vallentyne, being the officiating clergyman. Those left to mourn the loss of a devoted . husband and father are his widow, three sons.
