Burues, the noted evangelist, has held a month’s meeting recently at Jackson, •he county seat of Breathitt County, with 320 couvereiona to Christianity • It will be remembered by many read' prs of the Commercial that it was at this point, a year or more since, where •he numerous outlaws took possession of the Court-house, ran the Circuit Court Judgo (Randall) away from the town, murdered the County Court Judge (Burnett), and played the very mischief generally with the place. The State militia were sent thither some weeks subsequent thereto, and remained until the law-breakers were tried and convicted to the gal low a or the Penitentiary. It was thought that it would he necessary to again send soldiers with cannon there at the holding of last month’s Circuit Court, but Rev Mr. Barnes, the good evNiigehst, made ao appointment to hold a protracted meeting at Jackson during the Court that but recently closed.
