TWENTY-SECOND DISTRICTWilcox CountyJAMES BRUCE HENDERSON, of Miller’s Ferry, was born at Mobile, Alabama, on March 26, 1892. He is the son of William and Hettie (Lossing) Henderson, the former a native of Drumboie, Scotland; grandson of John and Jane Bain Henderson of Drumboie, Scotland, and Stephen and Bella Lossing of Mobile, Alabama.Senator Henderson received the B. S. and M. S. degrees from the University of Illinois in 1916, and remained at .that institution for one year as an Assistant in the Animal Husbandry Department. Beginning with his father and now associated with a brother he is a planter, cattleman, timber-man and merchant. He was a member of the Wilcox County Board of Education from 1927 to 1942, and has represented his district in the State Senate since 1939. A leader in various functions and affairs of his community he is Director of Centrala Farm Co-Op, Secretary-Treasurer of the Planters Cotton and Cattle Credit Corporation, and President of the Plantation Saddle Horse Association of America. He is a Democrat and an Elder in the Presbyterian church.
