HENRY H. HUFF AKER.Henry H. Huffaker was born January 24th, XS4I, in Bureau County, Illinois, on a farm near Dover. His youth was passed in farming. He attended the district school and Dover Academy, completing his education at the Princeton Illinois High School. In 1S70 he came west and settled in Mills County. Iowa, his present home. At ihat time the county was in its wild state. During his residence in the county, his merits have been recognised by his fellow citizens in frequent elections to places ottrust. n,- is a member of the various Agricultural Societies of the county. He secured from the Wabash. St. Louts and Pacific Railway Company, the loeauon nf a. station on his land, the embargo town of Silver City. He has 1,500 acres of land ami is a member of the National Live Stock Association. was appointed twice by Governor Cummins to the Fanners’ Xacional Congress, and is now a member of the same, is president of the Mills County Farmers’ Institute at the present time, was secretary of the Grange for ten years, is a stockholder and director in the Silver City Siate Bank and was one of its founders. He has been a successful business man and quite an extensive traveler, has been in forty-two states of the Union, East and West, Alaska, Cuba and Mexico. He was elected Representative of Mills County, Iowa, Nov. 3, 190S.
