FREEBORN George Hinkley came back from Chicago Tuesday morning where he had been with two carloads of hogs and one of sheep. Miss Laura Gilmore is home from Rock county to spend the holiday va cation. Yes Erene 0 a ah, Mrs. Sophus Peterson and children have been at her old home spending Christmas week, Miss Wilbur, who has been called the very satisfactory teacher in Dist. 101, has resigned and expects to take a course in music. Misses Rena Howard and Annie Hanson and Mr. George Jacobson are down from their studies at Mankato. Misses Vernon Snyder and Annie Sorenson are spending their vacation at their homes here,their school work this year being in London and Shell Rock. Mr. and Mrs. Lattin, Mr. J. K. Stoa, and family and Mr. George Johnson and family spent Christmas here with their relatives. The Misses Ostroms were out from Wells and attended Christmas exer cises, being guests at the Melander home. Why Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hinkley and daughter from Iowa are here making relatives a visit. John Risburg went to Packwaukee, Wis., Monday to visit his sister dur ing the holidays. Everything passed off finely at the churches Christmas eve, the little folks proving good entertainers. The marriage of Mr. G. Willard Jones and Miss Hannah Rafoth was solemnized at the M. E. church, Dec. 25, 1907, at 3 P. M., Rev. W. Haley speaking the words which united the young people. Miss Gertrude Mil ler played the organ. The bride’s at tendants were the Misses Gertrude Hanson, Jennie Jones and Elsie Brooks while the groom had Messrs. Burr Jones, Fred Rafoth and Theo dore Nelson. The bride’s dress was of white silk and her flowers were the lillies of the valley with ferns. The bridesmaids were dressed in white and carried white and pink roses.The groom was attired in black, as were his attendants. One hundred invita tions were given and the reception at the bride’s home was largely attend ed where a sumptuous dinner was served and a fine time enjoyed by the young people. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nelson and children were here from Austin and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Han son from Good Thunder to attend the wedding and the newly married cou ple went home with the latter for a short stay. The young couple have the hearty wishes of all for a prosper ous happy life. The presents were many and various too numerous to mention but there was fine china, glass, silverware, dining room table, a check from the groom’s father of $50 and $30 in gold from the bride's mother. me
