Gould is always a prophet for profit.About 2 o’clock Sunday morningtho cry of fire was given by several young men and the citizens on looking out discovered the grist mill to be on five. The mill had been running Saturday, and shut down about 5 o’clock, tho fire put out, and everything was thought to be safe and it is supposed a spark lit on the roof which caused the fire The mill was built about two years ago, and hud been running nearly all tho time and was a great loss to Maynard. The loss which is about $1,500, with no insurance, will be a severe one for the proprietor, Frank Tal** eott, as it was about all that he had. Tho citizens took tho matter in hand and raised about $500 Monday, and work bas commenced lo clear away the rubbish and put up another mill.Maynard, (Iowa) Register.
