FORMER RESIDENT OF MARSHALL TWP. DIES IN SO. DAK.l-4.u.yfits Su Febi-Q,Charles McLain died at his home9 *near Bryant, South Dakota, on Wednesday of last week, February 21. He was one of the early settlers of Marshall township, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McLain but he left this 'community more than 30 years ago and went to Bryant. His wife died a fewyears ago and since that time he made*his home with his daughter on his ownr . ifarm. Besides the daughter he leaves' • * *three sons. He was about 70 years:of age and burial was at Bryant. Mr.*and Mrs. C. A. Trenary were the only ones from this community who were* r * ■able to attend the funeral.Forty years ago, the McLain family of eight young people were the back-.bone of social affairs in the community j south jof Laurens. Death has taken half of them and onl A. E. living west of Pocahontas, remains in this county.
