Hinshaw, the wifemurderer. filed their bill of exceptions in the s\t-preme court of Indiana Friday. The record is tho most voluminous ever filed in the court, and covers 6,000 type-, written pages. The attorneys allege as tho reason for a new trial that the verdict was not sustained by the evidence, and that Judge Hadley erred in overruling the motion for a new trial-Hinshaw has been in the penitentiary four months. Since his conviction the sentiment against him has greatly changed.ROUGHS EXPELLED.The Freshman Class at Wabash College May Go On Strike.Crawforosvii.le, Ind., Feb. 28.— President Burroughs, of Wabash college, Thursday announced the expulsion of a number of freshman who participated in rowdyism February 22 last week. Thursday afternoon the freshmen met and passed resolutions of apology to the faculty, and presented a petition asking the reinstatement of the expelled members. They also passed a resolution declaring that the class would withdraw from the college iu a body unless the members dismissed were reinstated.Nearly Beaten to Death by Poles,Muncik, Ind., Feb. 28.—Five Poles called at William Thompson’s house and, calling him out, nearly beat him to death. Mrs. Emma Mack, who lives near by, weut to his assistance, and was dangerously beaten and kicked.” The assailants are iron-workers, and are m jail.
