Three Bauxite High School football players, Steve Allinson, Randy Bellinger and Gary Gentry, have been selected for listing in the Prep All-America Football Year book 1974-75. The announcement was made this week by Coach Athlete magazine and Bauxite Coach Jim Massarelli. Athletes listed in the yearbook are nominated by coaches, sportswriters and college recruiters and are “representative of the most outstanding football players in their school and community.” Each nominee listed in the yearbook is considered for Coach Athlete’s Prep All- America Football 100 Team. Allinson, a 5-10, 160-pound back, was all-district and all state in 1974. He was offensive player of the week in two games and defensive player of the week once. He had 53 tackles and two fumble recoveries from his safety position. He carried the ball 114 times for 710 yards, a 6.2 yard average and five touch downs. He intercepted three passes and returned them for 69 yards. He averaged 7.1 yards on punt returns. Bellinger, a 5-2, 122-pound tailback, rushed 82 times for 560 yards and a 6.5-yard average last fall. He was an all-district player and was named offensive player of the week twice. He had seven kickoff returns for 108 yards. Allinson and Bellinger were on 440, 880 and mile relay teams last spring that finished second, second and fourth in the state meet. The 440-yard relay team set a new school record. Gentry, a 5-11, 186-pound tackle, was all-district last fall. He had 60 tackles during the season, including 32 unassisted. He blocked three conversion attempts and was named defensive player of the week for one game
