Reports that the Atlas Bever age company will back a baseball team in Quines this summer, have been confirmed by Harry Walford, 614 North Second street, who has been named manager of the team. Ben Tensing, manager of the Fed eral Bakery, is to be captain of the nine. Twenty-seven players have been asked to try out for the team thus far. Several games have already been booked and more are being scheduled each week. Uniforms have been ordered and are expect ed to arrive here within a week or ten days and practice will begin as soon as weather conditions permit. Manager Walford is authority for the statement that the fans of Quincy will see some real base ball when the Atlas team gets un der way. Games are to be played in many cities within a radius of 100 miles of Quincey. The Atlas Beverage Company of Chicago purchased the interests of the Leisy Brewing company when the latter firm discontinued bus iness.
