Lynchburg, Va, Feb. 27.— The American Railways Company, which owns the local street —ratheay com pany, has agreed to build and oper ate a streetcar line over the ew bridge, soon to be under constric tion, across the James river into Ambersat county. The agreement depends upon the securing of the Proper franchises from Lynchburg and the county of Amherst. The line would be the extension of one of the routes in the city and would give a 12-minute schedule to Am herst. The run would give street car service to Madison Heights, a suburb of the city, where 3,500 peo ple live. ~ Some months ago the street rail way company declined to consider the operation of the one to Am sherat. . Lynchburg, Va., Feb. 27.—J. H Harris, O. B. Barker and W. J. Bell. representatives of three of the largest jobbing houses of Lynchburg and of the board of trade, left here tonight for Richmond to enter a pro test before a legislative committer, tomorrow against the proposition to increase taxes on robbers and manu facturers for the coming year. The committee was sent to Richmond by the Incal board of trade. Lynchburg, Va., Feb. 27. J. Mic hal H. Morgan, for a number of years cashier of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company here, has been promoted to the manager ship of the Staunton office He goes to Staunton to begin his duties this week. Lynchburg. Va, Feb. 27 --Alban H. Foster, aged 74 years, died Fri day at his home at Pamplins. He is survived by his second wife and the following children: Mrs. J. L., Linn, Chicago; Miss Vera Foster, Chicago; Miss Fannie Foster and Alban Fos ter, Pocahontas, Va., and Misa Ad ele F. Foster and Eugene Foster, of Pamplins, Lynchburg, Va., Kept Sire, Callie Mason Tucker, aged 66 years, died at her home here Saturday night. ‘She is survived by the fol lowing children:- Mrs. W. T. Wit ten, of Tazewell, Mrs. E.G. Crews, of Oxford, N. C.; Misa Helen Rucker Rucker, of Lynchburg.
