When the depart ment arrived on the scene the house, owned by E. Lowry and at this time, unoccupied, was seen to be burning fiercely. For a short time, when the blaze was at its height it was thought by many that the house of Dr. L. B. Bouchelle next door would burn also.” The water was turned that way and the blaze, which had already ignited the roof was checked. After It was found that this place was no dan ger the firemen fought the fierce flames on the other building but the fire had gained too much headway to be stopped. The whole building is how a pile of burning embers.
