Through his attorney, C. T. iieydecker, Mr. Blanchard has hied a suit in the Ulrcut Conrt for $10,000 damages for aleniatiou of his wife's affection.The parties to the suit are George Jones and Miss Eva A. Pettis. Jones has been Blanchard's hired man for nearly two years and in the suit the plautitf claims he will show that Jones was in love with Mrs Blanchard that she returned the feeling and that Misi Pettis acting as a sort of private secretary to Mrs. Blanchard, assisted the.pair to continue lovemaking in an endeavor to hoodwink Mr. Blanchard.October 15, 1001, Mrs. Blanchard, after packing np a few things, started for Volo, as she said to visit her relatives. Bhe took with her her two children and after they had started on the trip, she sent word to her husband that perhaps he would never see her again.Mr Blanchard made no effort to get his wife to return home and it wus supposed the matter had been dropped.in t lie meantime, however, Miss Pettis who had boarded at the Blanchard home, left and it became known that Mrs. Blauchard and she had gone to Beloit, Win. During this time and prior to it, Mr. Blauchard had suspected that Jones, his hired man, was in love with his wife and that his affections were not entirely misplaced.Attorney tleydecker speaking of the case said he had secured proof whereby lie would show that while Jones had written numerous alleged love letters to Miss Pettis, they were really intended for Mrs. Blanchard and that Miss Pettis, actihg as Mrs. Blanchard's private secretary, answered them in the same way in order to evade suspicion. He says he has any number of these letters and that such blundering errors were made that in several he will show how the letters were written by Mrs. Blauchard to Jones aud vice versa.
